New waste service in Smedjebacken

In May 2024, we introduced changes to waste collections, including new bins and collection for your packaging, newspapers and recycled paper as well as food waste and residual waste. These changes will make it easier for you to recycle more from home, help to improve the quality of the recycling we collect and reduce the impact of waste collections on our environment.

Sorting waste in the correct manner

Handling the waste is an environmental effort that begins at your home. You sort the waste based on the material it consists of and make sure it is put in the right place. We on our side, handle the waste and recycle it in the best possible way. Your food waste becomes biogas and bio fertilizer. Your old packaging is recycled into new packaging. Newspapers and recycled paper might become tomorrow's newspapers and your residual waste is converted into energy.

We want future generations to have the same opportunities as we have been given. By sorting and recycling more, we make a difference for the environment and the climate both today and in the future.

Together, we make sure to maximize the benefits of raw materials and energy, at the same time as we are saving on the world's resources.

Different waste subscriptions for owners of single family homes or holiday houses

Subscription Standard

In the subscription form Standard, two sorting bins are included and a box for smaller electrical items.

Bin 1 has four compartments – one for paper packaging, one for plastic packaging, one for clear glass packaging and one for metal packaging.

Bin 2 has also four compartments – one for food waste, one for residual waste, one for coloured glass packaging and one for newspapers and recyclable paper.

Store bulbs, batteries and smaller electrical items in the red box. Keep the box indoors until you need to empty it. Attach it to one of your bins at the bin collection day. Bring the box inside after it has been emptied and store it indoors until it's time to empty it again.

On the day when recycling and waste is collected:

• Bins should be put out by 6 am on the day of collection.
• Bins should be placed at the front boundary of the property off the public highway. Our collection crews should not have to walk onto your property or move any obstacles (including the opening of gates) to retrieve your bins.
• Bins should be placed with handles facing the road.

If you have this subscription form, dispose your sorted waste at a central collection point, which is equipped with bins where you put food waste, residual waste, newspapers and recyclable paper, paper packaging, plastic packaging, clear glass packaging, coloured glass packaging and metal packaging.
